Session III: Laban Conducting Techniques
Create stylistic distinction in your conducting through "Laban" gesture. This session will explore various ways of conducting through the exploration of space, weight and time. Using "float, wring, glide, press, flick, slash, dab, and punch" conductors will find new and fun ways to express themselves more musically. Your students won't believe the changes they'll see!

This session explores how you can more effectively prepare and perform them with your choir through study of the choral score.

Session XII: Demonstration Rehearsal with Directors Choir: Choir Building and Choral Artistry
At all levels it is possible for conductor-teachers to feel that a high level of musical artistry is attained through mystical means - when in fact, practically speaking, a high level of artistry is achieved by building on the basics, and is possible with groups of all levels. Participants will revisit the foundations of ensemble practice: vowels, pitch, dynamics, rhythm, and shared musical intention, and will identify strategies for nurturing these basics in their ensembles.
