John Jacobson | Hal Leonard John Jacobson Music Educator, Choreographer, Author John Jacobson is internationally recognized for his large-scale music and choreography productions. His outstanding body of work includes producing hundreds shows in association with Walt Disney Productions (including the opening of Disney Tokyo), directing choreography for presidential inaugurations, and producing massive song and dance numbers for events such as NBC’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. John Higgins | Hal Leonard John Higgins John Higgins is currently a free-lance composer, arranger and producer for the educational divisions of Hal Leonard LLC, the nation's largest publisher of printed music. He began in the music field as the student arranger for the University of Michigan Band under Dr. William D. Revelli, and gained invaluable experience as a public school music teacher in suburban Chicago. John served as Illinois president of the American String Teachers Association, and his school concerts featured renowned soloists and conductors such as Skitch Henderson, Charlie Byrd, and Arthur Fiedler of the Boston Pops. A co-author of the Essential Elements series of methods, John is best known for his many compositions and arrangements for choirs, bands and orchestras. As a composer of children's songs, he collaborated with such notables as John Jacobson, Roger Emerson and Emily Crocker on musicals, including How Does Your Garden Grow? and A Storybook Christmas. John has also arranged and produced a large catalog of children's music, including The Runaway Snowman, Peace Child, and Leslie Bricusse's Scrooge. His recording production for McGraw-Hill's Share the Music textbook series included music from Sesame Street, Disney films, and a special project with the late Fred Rogers of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Cheryl Lavender | Hal Leonard Cheryl Lavender Cheryl Lavender, Doctor of Music Education (honoris causa), is internationally recognized as a master music educator, composer, clinician and keynote speaker. Having taught music for 37 years from elementary through university levels, Cheryl maintains an active writing/speaking schedule through Hal Leonard. Cheryl’s 50+ music resources include games, songs, and teaching strategies.
