Hal Leonard to Release Three Lippa Pubs
The Andrew Lippa Songbook and Two Addams Family Folios Due in July
MILWAUKEE - The world's largest music print publisher, Hal Leonard Corporation is proud to announce three upcoming publications from acclaimed composer Andrew Lippa. The Andrew Lippa Songbook and two folios featuring music from The Addams Family - Vocal Selections and Piano/Vocal Selections - are all slated for July release.
The Andrew Lippa Songbook offers 26 songs from this respected musician, from his hit shows The Wild Party; You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown; A Little Princess; Betty Boop; Jerry Christmas; john & jen; Life with Father; and Reform School Musical - plus ten songs not composed for musicals. There are notes on Lippa's inspiration for certain selections, and a wonderful bio. This collection will be a coup for Lippa fans, as most of the songs in the book have never before been published.
Featuring music and lyrics by Lippa, The Addams Family (www.theaddamsfamilymusical.com) opened in April at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Broadway. Based on the iconic characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams for The New Yorker, this new hit musical deals with winds of change blowing though the haunted mansion of the macabre family. The show stars Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth, and is playing to sold-out audiences. It has garnered a Tony Award nomination for Best Original Score.
Hal Leonard will publish two Addams Family folios, each featuring 13 tunes from the musical: Crazier Than You * Happy Sad * In the Arms * Just Around the Corner * Let's Not Talk About Anything Else but Love * Live Before We Die * Morticia * One Normal Night * Pulled * The Moon and Me * Waiting * What If * When You're an Addams. One songbook will offer Piano/Vocal Selections and the other will contain Vocal Selections - vocal lines with piano accompaniment.
