Hal Leonard Employees Tri and Succeed

More Than a Dozen Hearty Staffers Swam, Biked & Ran to Raise Money for Children's Hospitals

MILWAUKEE - Hal Leonard proudly proffered 14 fit souls from its 140-person Milwaukee office for its corporate team in the Tri-ing for Children's Triathlon, a benefit for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and UW Health American Family Children's Hospital in Madison. The event took place on Sunday, July 28th in Eagle, Wisconsin, in the Southern Kettle Moraine Forest. A core group of tough business affairs staffers paved the way by doing the Pewaukee (WI) Triathlon in 2011. The Hal employee count tripled to nearly a dozen when they did it again in 2012. Tri-ing for Children's was a perfect next-step event, as it featured the "Sprint" distances of a traditional triathlon (a 400-yard swim, 15-mile bike ride and a 5K run), as well as "Olympic" distances for competitors seeking more of a challenge (a 1.5K swim, 40K bike ride and a 10K run). Team members trained together throughout the spring and summer to prepare for the triathlon. Health-conscious Hal Leonard covers the initiation fee and half of the monthly membership dues to a popular local health club. Next year's event will likely see increased participation from Hal Leonard employees, and raise even more money for this fantastic cause.
