Hal Leonard Signs with Samson

Distribution Deal Makes Full Line of Famed Samson Audio, Samson Wireless and Hartke Products Conveniently Available

MILWAUKEE - Hal Leonard Corporation has reached an agreement with Samson Technologies Corp. to distribute their consumer and professional audio products to music retailers throughout the US. Shipping on the Samson Audio, Samson Wireless and Hartke brands will begin June 1st. Headquartered in Hauppauge, NY, Samson began as a two-person operation and introduced its first wireless microphone system in 1980. In the 1990s, they expanded the reach of their audio products, developing power amplifiers, mixers, wired microphones and signal processors. In 2005, Samson introduced the first professional USB microphones for musicians, broadcasters and podcast enthusiasts. These mics are now the industry standard, as are their wireless microphones. Hartke revolutionized the world of bass amplification in 1985 with the creation of a unique aluminum cone driver that produced a bass tone with far broader dynamics than had ever been heard before. The company now offers a full line of bass amps, cabinets and combos that are used by some of the best bassists in the world. Today, Samson is an industry leader in both consumer and professional audio solutions. Known for their fidelity and reliability, the 250 products in their three notable brands are preferred by recording artists, performers, educators and audio professionals throughout the world. Samson products are sold in more than 140 countries. Samson, however, is not resting on its laurels. At the 2014 NAMM Show in January, the company unveiled its most extensive offering of products to date. Two of those products were honored as Best in Show by a panel of retail buying experts assembled by Music Inc. magazine. The Samson Expedition XP106w Portable PA with Bluetooth® was deemed a "Gotta Stock It," and the Samson BT30 30-Pin Bluetooth® Receiver won in the "Best Accessories and Add-Ons" category. As a happy foreshadowing of this agreement, Hal Leonard was named a Best in Show "Company to Watch" at both the Winter and Summer 2013 NAMM shows. Hal Leonard was awarded this honor for its pioneering work in expanding the availability of software and technology products to thousands of music dealers. Samson Head of Sales Robert Caputo says, "The time is right for us to partner, and there's no better MI distributor than Hal Leonard. The job they've done in expanding their distribution services in the instrument and tech sectors is impressive, and their commitment to dealers and knowledgeable sales team are well known and highly respected. We're excited about planning ways to leverage our mutual strengths and keep delivering great products through a dealer-friendly distributor like Hal Leonard." Brad Smith, senior sales & marketing manager for Hal Leonard, says, "Samson's one of the leading audio technology companies in the world. They have not only a broad line of established products, but also a reputation as a value-rich and reliable manufacturer that's dedicated to developing new products." He continues, "Samson is a outstanding complement to our growing catalog of MI products. With their quality products at various price points, we can provide dealers with solutions for all of their audio customers, and the bundling potential is huge. We're eager to offer our services to find new Samson customers, especially in the school and church markets."
