The Hal Leonard Scat Omnibooks provide 74 note-for-note transcriptions directly from the most famous recordings of classic jazz standards. ANYONE can use these books, vocalists and instrumentalists alike. The solos lend themselves to vocalists wanting to learn the style as well as to instrumentalists who wish to expand their improvising prowess. Singers represented include Karrin Allyson, Louis Armstrong, Ann Hampton Calloway, Bing Crosby, Kurt Elling, Ella Fitzgerald, Roberta Gamarini, Dianne Reeves, Mel Tormé, Sarah Vaughan, and more! Omnibooks are comprehensive collections featuring the most accurate note-for-note transcriptions right from the recordings. They also include chord symbols, metronome markings and are comb-bound for easy usability. The Scat Omnibooks include an artist index and introduction on the history of scat vocals and recording references are included with each song. However no lyrics are included for the scat solos as the spelling of syllables are too varied and numerous. It is currently available in a C Edition for C instruments and vocalists as well as a B-flat edition.
