James Stevens
Dr. James M. ""Jimbo"" Stevens (b. 1961) is a published composer of over 200 songs with more than 20 national companies. His music includes works for adult, youth, and children's choirs, handbells, and piano books. Stevens received an undergraduate degree from Samford University, Birmingham, AL; a Masters of Church Music from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY; and a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Composition from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. Without Love…We Have Nothing, a song that Stevens and Joseph M. Martin co-wrote, continues to be an international sensation with more than 200 different commercial CDs containing it being recorded. It is now being sold and exported all over the world in virtually every musical format. Stevens has won numerous ASCAP Standard Composition Awards and is in demand for his commissioned anthems. Dr. Stevens is currently the Chairman of the Music Department of Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, TN where he resides with his wife, Machelle and daughter, Heather.
