James Kazik

James Kazik (b. 1974) is a native of DePere, Wisconsin.  In 1997 he earned a B.M. in Music Composition and Theory at the University of Minnesota where he studied composition with Judith Lang-Zaimont and Alex Lubet, and arranging with Adi Yeshaya. In 2000, he earned a M.M. in Trombone Performance at the University of North Texas. 


James is an active freelance copyist, composer, arranger, clinician and conductor.  From 2015-2020, he was conductor of the St. George Chamber Orchestra.  From 2001-2022 James served on the arranging staff of the United States Army Band, "Pershing's Own" in Washington D.C., and served as the band's Chief Arranger from 2018-2022.  Currently, he is an Instrumental Editor for Hal Leonard LLC.
