Carol Klose Composition Competition

Hal Leonard is pleased to announce the third annual online piano composition competition for students created in honor of Carol Klose (1945-2013), a popular piano teacher and prolific Hal Leonard composer. The purpose of the competition is to encourage the creative musical spirit that Carol established by giving piano students a platform to compose, perform and share their original piano compositions.

COMPETITION AGE DIVISIONS

For the purposes of this competition, age is defined as the age of the entrant on the deadline date of July 31, 2016. Entrants must be legal residents of the United States and its territories, or legal residents of Canada.


Junior Composer

Ages 12 and under

Teen Composer

Ages 13-18

Collegiate Composer

Ages 19-23

Prizes For All Divisions

Gold Medal, $300 Gift Certificate from Hal Leonard
Silver Medal and $200 Gift Certificate from Hal Leonard
Bronze Medal and $100 Gift Certificate from Hal Leonard
Carol Klose Award
Hal Leonard will select one winning composition from ANY age category to be published in the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library Showcase Solos.
Further gift certificates for Honorable Mentions are possible.
