Written in Haitian “rara” style, “Alélouya” by Emile Desamours captures the celebratory nature of this musical style in an exuberant anthem proclaiming Christ's resurrection. Sung a cappella in the Haitian Creole dialect with finger snaps and tongue clicks, the joy and ecstasy of Easter overflow. For choirs that may find the Haitian text a bit too challenging, “Alélouya” will also be very effective performed using the English text. This is a truly electric piece!
