Wieniawski – Violin Concerto No. 2 in D Major, Op. 22 & Sarasate – Zigeunerweisen, Op. 20 Music Minus One Violin Music Minus One Softcover Audio Online

This collection contains two of the Romantic Era's neglected treasures. Henryk Wieniawski, though little known today, was a potent figure in the 19th century, an almost unparalleled virtuoso violinist and a respected composer. His D minor concerto, op. 22, was premiered in St. Petersburg in 1862 and is a Romantic-era treasure. Pablo de Sarasate's 'Zigeunerweisen' ('Gypsy ways') is a wonderful fantasia on Romany themes composed in 1878. Both of these concerti are wonderful and often overlooked. But take our advice and discover them – they will not disappoint!

Contains a printed score with access to online recordings featuring both concerti in split-channel stereo with the violinist on the right channel; then again in a stereo accompaniment version minus the solo violin part.

Performed by Geoffrey Applegate, violin

Accompaniment: Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra

Conductor: Emil Kahn

The audio is accessed online using the unique code inside each book and can be streamed or downloaded. The audio files include PLAYBACK+, a multi-functional audio player that allows you to slow down audio without changing pitch, set loop points, change keys, and pan left or right.
