Commissioned for Selwyn College, Cambridge. This is MacMillans second setting of the sublime poem by John Donne (1572-1631), “Bringus, O Lord God, at our last awakening into the house and gate of heaven”. Whereas the earlier work is composed in a 'motet' style, the new piece is more of a meditation, with sustained chordal textures and multiple divisi.
