Jean Langlais remains one of the most admired composers of the 20th century. Canzona was originally released as an organ solo in the collection “Folkloric Suite,” and captures the unique flavor of Langlais' French, harmonic, post-impressionism. Kenneth Danchik has created a fabulous rendition which incorporates a brass quartet (trumpet parts for both Bb or C), and the antiphonal craftsmanship is excellent. This piece can be performed as an organ solo or with the brass, and will work as a concert or service piece.
