Yankee Doodle Fantasy is an extraordinary as well as impressive piece from Partch's early creative period. It is virtuoso, sometimes funny and has already been successful in the first performances with the soprano Ethel Luening. Most of the texts for Yankee Doodle Fantasy were taken from Partsch Oscar Sonneck's The Star-Spangled Banner, Hail Columbia, America and Yankee Doodle.
