Hal Leonard Releases New Hybrid Concert Band Editions

MILWAUKEE—3.19.25—Band directors know the struggle: a missing part on rehearsal day, an unbalanced section needing extra copies, or a student who misplaced their sheet music—again. Hal Leonard is making these headaches a thing of the past with its new Hybrid Editions for concert band.

At first glance, Hybrid Editions look just like a standard printed score, but each one includes a unique access code to all parts digitally (as PDFs) via MyLibrary.com. This allows directors to: Print as many copies as needed for their ensemble, download parts for digital viewing on tablets or computers, and keep a secure backup for future use.

With Hal Leonard Hybrid Editions, directors get the best of both worlds: the professional quality of a printed score and the convenience of unlimited digital access. These editions are perfect for:

  • Unbalanced sections that need additional parts
  • Middle school musicians who frequently lose or damage their music
  • Long-term use without worrying about preserving original parts

The first Hybrid Editions are available now as part of Hal Leonard’s popular Discovery Plus Concert Band Series (Grade 2):

  • Barbie Girl (arr. Paul Murtha)
  • Taylor Swift Eras (arr. Johnnie Vinson)
  • Highlights from How to Train Your Dragon (arr. Johnnie Vinson)

Hybrid Editions are available at the same price as traditional printed sets, which remain available. Many more editions are in production. For more details, visit halleonard.com/hybrideditions.
