The piano trio Looking back to Ararat by Harald Weiss was inspired by the 1962 Armenian-born composer, conductor and musicologist David Haldjian. The composer - in the style of Paul Celan - has prefaced a picture-strong motto with the equally yearning and hopeful Adagio movement. The view falls back to the mythical and legendary extinct volcano Ararat: “The mountain towers majesticallyand full of dignity to the sky. Nothing, nothing is lost.”
