Xiaoyong Chen's in 2008 completed orchestral work “Colour of Dreams” received its world premiere on 23 May 2008 during the course of the event “das neue werk” (the new work), presented by the NDR, at the Rolf-Liebermann-Studio in Hamburg. Chen's compatriot Muhai Tang was the conductor of the world premiere with the NDR Sinfonieorchester (NDR Symphony Orchestra).
