Rene Boyer

Dr. René Boyer is a Professor of Music Education and Director of the Orff-Schulwerk Program at the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. She is a nationally and internationally recognized author and clinician. Best know for her work in multicultural music education and choral music as they are applied in the urban classroom setting, Rene's expertise lies in her ability to engage elementary and middle school students in creative and ethnically-diverse musical experiences that capture their interest for years to come. René is a co-author of Share the Music, a K-6 basal textbook series published by McGraw-Hill and Music Fundamentals, Methods, and Materials for the Elementary Classroom Teacher published by Addison Wesley Longman. Her other publications include Expressions of Freedom, an Anthology of African-American spirituals in three volumes and Walking in the Light of Freedom, a celebration of African-American history through spirituals, plantation songs, and children's songs and games, all published by Hal Leonard Corporation.
