Gene Grier
Gene Grier (August 5, 1942 - May 3, 2009) wrote music and lyrics on a regular basis for Shawnee Press in collaboration with Greg Gilpin, Ruth Elaine Schram, Patrick Liebergen, David Lantz III, Lowell Everson and several other Shawnee Press composers. Gene is a former public school teacher and university professor and was actively involved in church music as a soloist and director all of his life. He was a soloist with The Norman Luboff Choir, Executive Vice President, General Manager of J.W. Pepper in Detroit, and was an Executive Editor for The Lorenz Corporation. He was also the Director of The Vocal Arts Academy, which was in residence at Oakland University, Rochester, MI for 25 years. Gene served as President of Music Unlimited, Birdsongs Unlimited, EverGreen Morning Press and EverGreen Echoes.
