Korean Festival is an uninterrupted set of four variations on a Korean folk tune, whose theme is stated in the introductory measures. The first variation is lyrical in character, and features a brief cornet solo. The second contains interludes for the percussion section alone, and the third is in the manner of a chorale. The final variation is a brisk allegro which brings the piece to a rousing conclusion. (3:15)
