His artistic gifts were revealed very early. He completed his musical training in Lebanon with Hagop Arslanian and groomed himself into becoming an accomplished composer, pianist, conductor, chorus-master and poet. He was celebrated as a child prodigy, with some hundred musical compositions written between 1969 – when he was only twelve – and 1978.
